A spray tan is made up of a solution called DHA(dihydroxyacetone) and a bronzer which is mixed together and put into a cup that is attached to a spray gun. The spray tech then will spray your body. You will be dry in about 5 minutes so you can get dressed and continue your day. The DHA will take about 3 to 7 hours to appear and will last about 5 to 7 days depending on how you maintain it.
What is DHA?
DHA is a colorless sugar that reacts with the skin proteins, including amino acids in the outermost layer of the skin.
The reaction causes a browning affect which looks very similar to a healthy natural tan. The tan fades as the dead layers of the skin slough off.
DHA has been FDA approved since 1973.
